I worked with Laura in the soap opera/entertainment journalism industry in the 2000s.  She was always very professional and hardworking at all the industry events we attended together.  She was and is a good writer with terrific attention to detail, and I always enjoyed reading her work in the competing publication.  She also has a very easy-going demeanor and personality, making it easy for people to work with her and trust her.  I would recommend Laura for any similar positions!

Laura DeBrizzi was a key player (at Soap Opera Update; I was the editor-in-chief) in keeping multiple editorial objectives moving while several projects were being launched.  She effortlessly delivered week after week and needed little supervision in taking the product to a higher level. Laura is detail-oriented, hard-working and was always willing to take on more responsibilities. Her most important skill is understanding what the reader wants.

Laura was a reporter who was assigned to the television show I represented (As The World Turns). I worked with Laura on a consistent basis to get coverage for this show and the cast of this series. We had a mutual respect and understanding. We both worked hard to pitch stories for the show and I could trust that Laura would go to bat with her editors for us. She was incredibly respectful of the cast when spending time on the set with them; the cast enjoyed their time with Laura and felt safe with her around.

I had the pleasure of working with Laura as a freelancer during my time as editor-in-chief at 'Entertainment Today,' a free weekly newspaper based in Los Angeles. Our operation was a fairly spartan one, without the benefit of much time for editorial hand-holding or ego management and massaging. Ergo, it was crucial for me to find capable writers who could deliver quality content, meet promised deadlines, and take direction and feedback in a professional manner. Laura was, and is, those things - and much more. She's a genuine pop culture junkie, and her ability to marry that extensive knowledge with a passion for so many of her subjects makes her a great entertainment journalist. During her time contributing to 'Entertainment Today,' she helped increase the breadth and quality of our rotating-authorship 'TV Talk' column, and also contributed interviews and other feature pieces. Laura is exceedingly pleasant and easy to deal with, whether taking assignments or developing interesting and engaging story pitches on her own. In conclusion, I always found Laura to be both very reliable and professional.

I worked with Laura at Bauer publication Soap Opera Update in the early 2000s. We were a small group so working in unison was key.  Laura's a great colleague, passionate about writing, knowledgeable about the television world, and had no ego (in a good way). Meaning, if a colleague had a suggestion - she'd welcome it without feeling territorial as some tend to be.  I've read her work; it's engaging and lively. She knows her audiences and asks the questions of interview subjects that her readers want answered. She would edit pages, proofread other writers, and worked on special projects for Bauer including the Soap Opera Update Yearbook. I recommend her for any position for which she applies.

Laura is a talented, detailed and creative writer. I had the joy of working with her when I starred in the CBS soap opera 'As The World Turns.' I was interviewed by Laura many times and could always trust her reporting and the way she would create and publish our interviews. Due to her warm and engaging personality, we struck up a friendship, which speaks to her nature as easy to get along with, funny and trustworthy.

Laura and I share an alma mater and served on an alumni panel to benefit students for many years running.  The best description of her - a sparkling personality, a loyal soul, and a brilliant writer.

I had the pleasure of working with Laura DeBrizzi when we were both employed at Soap Opera Update. Aside from her duties as News Editor, at which she was tenacious and proficient, Laura also had to write material for several of the sections I edited. Her writing was insightful, poignant and extremely well-crafted. Over the years, she demonstrated a dedication and sense of professionalism unmatched by any other. She was a brilliant interviewer, instantly putting all subjects at ease, coaxing information that was usually guarded. As a co-worker, she was a delightful co-conspirator, always willing to pitch-in when needed. Her general demeanor served as motivation for the rest of us. In short, there are few people, none of whom come to mind, that I could recommend more for a position.

Laura is one of the most consistently positive people I know and I loved working with her.  Her attitude, intelligence, and determination would be an asset to any office. We met as interns on 'One Life To Live' while in college and have remained friends for over 20 years.

Laura has contributed on and off to Soapdom.com Inc. since 2005. She is diligent and thorough. She is a thoughtful communicator and creative in her approach. Her columns and/or interview are thought-provoking and insightful and always show a side to her subject that we may not have seen before. She meets deadlines and is a pleasure to work with. Laura DeBrizzi is a former student of mine at Drew University and she and I have kept in contact since her graduation. She is a wonderful woman who is intelligent, resourceful and very dependable. She works very well under supervision and will execute her tasks in a competent and responsible manner; you won't have to hold her hand to get things done. What can I say about the charming and personable and quick-thinking and talented and business savvy and idea churning Laura DeBrizzi? As her manager, I would have to say that it was more like working beside her as opposed to a boss/employee relationship. In addition to being always present and punctual, she is a joy to have on your team. And this not only applies to the publishing field, but any company seeking top-rate workers would be lucky to have Laura excelling behind its doors. Her writing is top-notch and thoughtful and her people skills are enviable. I highly recommend her to any company seeking top-level and experienced players.

I look back on the five years that I served as Editorial Director of the BK Nation website with a great sense of satisfaction. We gave voice to many writer - from newbies to renowned professionals - in a space where they could express themselves on the issues that mattered to them.
